For the first time the Shortynale Klosterneuburg was held in 2009. The debut of the shortfilm-festival took place in line with the open-air cinema Mythos Film on the town hall square in Klosterneuburg. The aim was to give young filmmakers the chance to present their work to a wider audience. 17 shorts dealing with the subject myth were screened in the selection of the Shortynale.
